An international show jumper and coach representing the USA, with experience spanning young horses through CSI5* competition — and a commitment to developing both equine and human talent.
California Beginnings
Raised in the saddle
Emma grew up in California, where horsemanship was a family affair — her mother, Debi Marlowe, directed the teaching programs at a local riding facility, and Emma learned the craft from the ground up. As a junior she rode as a catch-rider and working student for Leslie Steele, sharpening her skills in the hunter and equitation rings.
Beyond Leslie's program, she caught rides for numerous trainers across California as a junior, and spent her junior career as a working student for Don Stewart. David Bustillos of Durango Farms has been a mentor and supporter since the very beginning. Without the belief of Leslie, David, and Don, she wouldn't have had the opportunities she did as a young working student.
It was an untraditional route — no junior championships, no string of made horses — just an unshakeable belief that she belonged at the top of the sport.
Turning Professional
National to CSI5*
After finishing her junior career in 2018, Emma moved east to begin her professional journey at Trelawny Farm. Since then she has competed from the National to CSI5* level across the United States, Canada, and Europe, and ridden on the Major League Show Jumping circuit for Eye Candy Jumpers and the Trelawny Trailblazers.
Highlights include multiple podium finishes in the CSI5* MLSJ Team Events & a 3rd place in the $100k HITS Grand Prix at Saugerties.
Today
Rider & developer
Now based between New York and Wellington, Emma rides with AS Farms USA alongside partners Abdel Said and Samuel Hutton. Her days are split between competing at the elite level, producing horses for international sale, and building innovative ownership and investment models that bring new partners into show jumping.
The goal remains simple and unwavering: compete at the top of the sport and represent Team USA — while helping the next generation of horses and riders find their own way there.
